Okay, I know I've been posting like every single day this week. You'd think I was cooped up home with a newborn and a lot of snow outside-- oh wait, I am. I have actually been wanting to post this for a long time because I think it's so hilarious, and Mitch took Marin to the grocery store so I have a little time to waste on blogging, so here goes. This is Marin's season ski pass for next year. When I saw it I laughed so hard I about died! Doesn't she look thrilled? I can tell she can't wait to hit the slopes!

Big Sissy

"Sissy" is what my little sister Avree used to call me when we were growing up. She didn't mean in the "wimp" sense (although I kind of was probably a wimp), that's just what she called me. Marin is getting used to the idea of being a big sister. She also is old enough and smart enough to know that Kate = less mom attention, but she is adjusting I think. This picture actually looks more like Kate really looks than any of the others I've taken previously, especially the cross-eyed, large-jowled picture in my last post. I just love how little newborns go cross-eyed (at least both of mine have), it totally cracks me up! And in case you were wondering how much Kate has changed since yesterday, here is another picture of her (I know, I know... all these pictures are for family, I'm sure they all look the same to the rest of you). But FYI: Kate has gained 12 ounces since her last appointment (that's almost a pound!) and although it doesn't look like it, she has a bunch of black hair in back, and not a whole lot on top (yes, very much the same as a bald man who still dyes his hair), but of course Mitch and I think she's adorable in every way!

Per Ashlee's Request

Since I didn't mail Ashlee's birthday card until last week, yeah, her birthday was on March 1st (seriously, what is with me and being horrible about remembering birthdays? It's like a disease!), I am fulfilling her request to post a few comparison pictures of Kate and Marin. Also, I thought it was a good idea :)

My verdict is they don't look much alike-- but I haven't been able to get a picture of Kate that really looks like Kate. And why does Marin have a red bow on her head that so charmingly matches her pink outfit? We'll never know.

Upon further inspection, I did find 2 pictures of Marin and Kate that look alarmingly similar in the eyes...


No, Marin does not have a lazy eye, and I am confident that Kate won't either, but you can imagine this is exactly what they'd look like if they did...

I don't have a lot of time, I'll give more details later, but I will say she is the cutest little yummy smelling baby in the world! She's doing great, I'm feeling great, and we just love her little self!

Well, I am a little less than 3 weeks from my due date, BUT... I went to the doctor on Tuesday and I was dilated to a 4, 80% effaced, and the baby had dropped all the way down (sorry if that was a little too detailed but my life is revolving around these numbers lately)-- he said I should have her any time, but here I sit, 5 days later... not one tiny little contraction! I know it's better not to have her too early, but dang it, I feel like a ticking time bomb! She could come in 2 weeks or 2 hours and the OCD, likes-to-plan-everything, bossy first child in me wants to know EXACTLY when I'm going to have this baby! So as I wait I've cleaned my house meticulously (to the point where I'm so sore I can't hardly walk, dumb, I know), my car is cleaner than it has ever been, the nursery is mostly decorated, I have diapers, baby wash, a baby bathtub thing, binkies, sterilized bottles, freshly washed receiving blankets and cute tiny little clothes, hats, socks, burp cloths, and all other items baby-related, not to mention my hospital bag is packed and ready to go! Now all I need is my baby!
